Lions Clubs International began in Chicago in June 1917. It was formed by a young insurance agent, Melvin Jones. Lions meet the needs of local communities and the world. With over 1.3 million members of our volunteer organisation, covering over 206 countries and geographical areas are different in many ways, but share a core belief ~ 'Community is what we make it'​
